What ᥆ means

It is zero in Limbu numerals.

The Limbu script, called Sirijanga, writes Limbu. Tradition credits an early form to ninth-century Sirijanga; Teongsi Sirijanga reintroduced the script in the eighteenth century. Oldest known writings were collected in the 1850s; modern script development began in Kalimpong in 1925.

Mundhum are Limbu sacred oral narratives. A 1961 printed version used Devanagari for technical reasons; Limbu-script editions appeared especially after 1990.

Why does ᥆ show as a box?

The font or app may lack Limbu support.

SIL's Namdhinggo 3.200 font (2026) needs adequate OpenType support in the app.

Why does ᥆ show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
