ol onal letter eh

Ol Onal letter Eh

𞗪 is the Ol Onal letter for /h/; “Eh” is its Latin-script name, and its sound is like h in English “hat.” Mahendra Nath Sardar developed Ol Onal for Bhumij, a language spoken in eastern India, during 1981–1992; “Ol” means “to draw” and “onal” means “shape.” In a 1992 contest, the Adim Bhumij Samaj chose it among three script proposals. By 2022, uses included primers, ritual work, banners and inscriptions.
