Package

Text and emoji forms

Same symbol, two display styles.

📦 is the package emoji: a parcel, usually drawn as a cardboard-looking box, that's packed, shipped or delivered. People drop it into order updates, moving-day messages and unboxing posts. A present can hide inside, but the box alone doesn't promise one.

What 📦 means

A parcel that's packed, on its way, or arrived. The words beside it tell you which stage it has reached. Announcing a present? 🎁 says that outright.

Practical rather than celebratory: a shipping update, not a party invitation.

📦 alone does not promise a gift.

Worth knowing

  • Before Unicode, Japanese phone carriers had their own version of this picture: DoCoMo and SoftBank labelled it “present”, KDDI “package”. Unicode later gave gifts their own emoji, 🎁.

Questions people ask

1

Why is there a wine glass on 📦?

It's the standard fragile-handling mark. As of 2026, Apple's artwork includes it alongside upright arrows; it doesn't mean the parcel contains wine.
