Delivery Truck

A delivery truck: shipping, deliveries and things being hauled from A to B.

The picture is the everyday box truck you see on any street: a cab in front and a closed rectangular cargo box behind, the vehicle that brings parcels, furniture and shop stock. That is exactly what the emoji means. Most of the time it is about a purchase: an online shop or courier announces that an order has been dispatched, a small seller promises "ships within 24 hours 🚚", a listing shouts "free delivery 🚚". The truck is the shorthand for the whole journey between the warehouse and your door.

The second big use is moving house. Because the same truck carries sofas as well as parcels, 🚚 next to 🏠 or 📦 means removals: packing up, moving day, the van arriving at the new place. People also use it for anything hauled in bulk, from a food delivery run to a supply convoy, and truck drivers and people in logistics or warehouse jobs put it in bios and posts about their work.

Fonts draw the truck differently. Most draw it as a white or coloured box truck, and the direction it faces varies, so do not read "coming" or "going" into which way it points. For a long-haul lorry with a separate trailer there is a different emoji, 🚛, and for an open-bed pickup there is 🛻.

What does it mean when someone sends 🚚?

"It's on its way" — or "I'm moving", depending on the conversation.

From a shop, courier or seller, 🚚 is a status update: your order has left and is travelling. It is friendly packaging for a logistics message, not a promise of a time or a confirmation that the parcel has been handed over. Check the written status or tracking before you wait by the door.

From a friend, read the thread. In a chat about a new flat, 🚚 means the move is happening or help is wanted on moving day. As a reply to "where are you?", it is a playful "on my way, bringing the stuff": the drinks, the gear, the cake. It carries no emotion of its own beyond mild cheer; the humour, if any, comes from what the truck is supposedly carrying.
