Separated Block Sextant-2356

𜺆 is one tile of text-mode block graphics: four filled parts of a 2×3 mosaic. Teletext, a television information service developed in Britain in the early 1970s, used such mosaics to draw simple pictures on its pages.

What 𜺆 means

They preserve Teletext’s separated-graphics mode.

Neighboring mosaic cells can join into a larger picture. The matching contiguous tile, 🬳, fills the same four cells with touching blocks. Keeping the spaced and solid styles distinct lets Teletext emulators and older software reproduce the intended layout.

Why does 𜺆 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
