What did this triangle do on the Sharp MZ?
It was a ready-made screen graphic on a Sharp home computer.
Sharp's European MZ-700 stored screen shapes and letters in a character ROM, a built-in library programs could use to assemble pictures and game scenes. A German product leaflet from 1983 lists an 80×50-pixel display. A Unicode mapping published in 2021 traces to position 6A in the European alternate set. On MZ-700/800 computers, a bit in display memory selected that second set for each screen cell. Three matching striped tiles point up, right, and down.
