What 𘥙 means
It is a structural piece, not a standalone Tangut word.
Tangut characters are assembled from components; scholars use these pieces to index, describe, and analyze characters. In an Ideographic Description Sequence (IDS), a notation that shows a character's parts, 𘥙 marks one piece. The number 346 is an inventory label, not a translation or pronunciation.
A component's role depends on the complete character and its position; some components give clues to sound or meaning. By itself, 𘥙 names a component, not a complete written message.
Why was the Tangut script made?
It was created to write the Tangut language.
Made under the first Western Xia emperor around 1036, the script served government, schools, and official documents; later it carried Buddhist translations, block-printed books, inscriptions, and manuscripts.
Its forms may resemble Chinese writing, but Tangut is a separate script. It continued after Western Xia fell; a later surviving example is a set of 1502 dhāraṇī pillars—stone pillars inscribed with Buddhist ritual texts.
Specialist indexing symbol: useful in Tangut reference work, but not an everyday word.
Do not translate the isolated component as a Tangut word; read it as part of a larger character.

1Why does Tangut component 346 show as a box?
A missing-glyph box means the app cannot find a font containing Tangut. In a browser, a web font may fix that page while other applications still lack support; add a Tangut-capable font for the app you use.
