Top Half Left-Facing Robot

What 𜱚 means

From the Sharp MZ-700’s European alternate character set. In the early 1980s, Sharp’s MZ-700 used a character ROM—a built-in chip of tiny pixel drawings—to supply screen pictures. Its European alternate set included game sprites; the old display table puts this robot half at 0x43. Those extra pictures could not be entered from the keyboard in BASIC: a program wrote the slot to screen memory with POKE (BASIC’s command for writing directly to memory) and enabled the alternate set for that cell. In Unicode, the old display slot is separate from U+1CC5A.
