What 𜱛 means

It was drawn as one of two vertically stacked screen cells.

The MZ-700 launched in Japan in 1982; this glyph comes from its European alternate display set, unlike the Japanese one. Its character ROM (read-only memory) held 8×8 picture tiles, which programs arranged in a grid for games. Unicode keeps the tile in text for file conversion and emulators.

Questions people ask

1

Could MZ-700 users type this from the keyboard?

No. The 1Z-013B BASIC interpreter, the MZ-700's programming software, did not accept characters from the European alternate set at the keyboard. A program could select them using the POKE command, which writes a value to screen memory.
