What 𜺖 means

It is row two, column three in a 44 cell.

Across a text grid, block tiles form simple pictures. Early computers and teletext—information pages sent through television broadcasts—used the technique; the BBC's Ceefax service launched in 1974 with blocky, coloured pages.

A 2021 Unicode proposal framed this set as a way to preserve older character data, support emulators and extend text-mode graphics.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𜺖 show as a box on some devices?

It is recent: Unicode added it in version 16.0 (2024), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
