What 🡨 means
It points left, marking a direction or a leftward relation. In a diagram, nearby labels tell you whether it means movement, a previous step, or a connection.
Wingdings is a symbol font: its slots display symbols instead of ordinary letters. The Wingdings barb2left slot supplied this wide-headed barb design; Unicode working documents from 2011–2012 mapped it into a standard text character that can travel without that font.
Why does 🡨 look different?
A font may draw it differently or show a missing-glyph box. 🡨 is text; if a font lacks its glyph, software may display a box, and supported fonts can give it different outlines.
The Wingdings character belongs to a particular font slot, so a similar-looking drawing there may be different underlying text. The Unicode character remains portable when a document moves between systems.
What if someone sends it alone?
Read it as a left arrow first. By itself, 🡨 gives a direction but no target. The surrounding message or diagram should show what lies to the left; if a chat message has no target, ask what the sender means.
Technical and diagrammatic, with a distinctive computer-font feel.
A missing font glyph can appear as a box; use a familiar arrow when direction must survive different fonts.
