What ꒰ means
Do not read ꒰ as shy, timid, or embarrassed. It is a dictionary-lookup radical: a heading under which related Yi syllable characters are grouped. You cannot use it as a normal character in a Yi sentence.
Yi writing predates computer encoding. The earliest securely dated evidence cited here is a 15th century Chenghua Bell inscription; older origins remain debated. Bimo ritual specialists copied texts for ritual, genealogy, history, medicine, and literature, with large regional variation. This modern radical set borrows the Chinese-radical idea to index related Yi syllables.
