What means
The digits name the six filled cells in the eight-cell grid.
Kaypro's 1983 semigraphics used each 2×4 text cell as eight pixels, enabling drawings where pixels could not be addressed directly. Unicode keeps these tiles for legacy-data conversion, emulators and text-mode graphics.
Why does the octant show as a blank box?
The font may not contain this tile.
As of 2026, some terminal fonts still lack octant coverage. If a missing-character box appears, use a font that includes the block glyph.
