Block Octant-123578

445/686

𜷂 is a semigraphics tile: one fill pattern for a picture on a text screen. Its digits mark six filled cells in a 2-by-4 grid, used for Kaypro graphics and later preserved for emulator compatibility. Without the right font or terminal support, it can appear as a missing-glyph box.

What 𜷂 means

It fills six positions in a two-column, four-row cell. Each filled part acts like a pixel.

The 1983 Kaypro 10 guide describes drawing with pixels in character cells. A 2022 Unicode proposal maps this pattern to Kaypro's reverse-video set, where foreground and background swap. Unicode later kept these tiles for data conversion and emulators.

Why does 𜷂 show as a box?

Your font or terminal may lack its glyph. As of 2026, support for this block varies by terminal; a box can be its missing-glyph fallback.
