Block Octant-567

348/686

𜵡 is a tile in a 2 4 grid for text graphics, with three of the eight patches filled. Kaypro II home computers used octant patterns to draw pictures with text characters; as of 2026, the Octant terminal program also uses this set to render images.

What 𜵡 means

It fills positions 5, 6, and 7 in an eight-part cell. The cell has two columns and four rows; its name identifies the filled patches. The Kaypro II home computer used this kind of semigraphics—pictures assembled from text characters—because its text display could not set each screen pixel individually. Place octant tiles beside one another and their fills join into a larger image.
