What 🬶 means
It’s one tile for drawing with text characters.
It splits a character cell into two columns and three rows; cells 1, 4, 5, and 6 are filled. The tile contributes to a larger picture.
UK teletext mosaics emerged in the early 1970s to draw simple graphics on low-resolution screens. The same pattern appears in French Minitel and home-computer sets as another tile for building images.
Why can this tile look joined or split?
A separate display setting controls the gaps.
The 2003 ETSI teletext specification lets mosaic cells touch or sit apart. A separate control picks the style; 🬶 carries the tile pattern, not the setting.
