bottom half left-facing runner frame-1

Bottom Half of Left-Facing Runner, Frame 1

𜷭 is the lower half of a left-facing running figure from the Mattel Aquarius home computer’s game character set. Unicode retains this Aquarius glyph for legacy-computing compatibility; the complete figure uses a separate upper-half tile.

What 𜷭 means

The Aquarius built game screens from fixed character tiles. The computer had no programmable graphics, so its ready-made character set supplied pictures for games. Its runner is split into two vertically stacked tiles: the matching upper half and 𜷭 form one pose, while a different lower tile forms the next animation frame.

The Mattel Aquarius launched in 1983. Its character set also included a standing person, a robot, explosions, and geometric shapes; Unicode later retained these graphics to represent early computer character sets.

Why does 𜷭 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
