It is one cell in an old computer's game-art set. Unicode's proposal maps it to Mattel Aquarius character code 8C and preserves it for conversion and emulation. The 1983 computer lacked programmable graphics, so Joe Ferreira, Monique Lujan-Bakerink, and Peggi Decarli filled its character set with game figures and scenery.
