What 𜷽 means

It is the first still in a three-frame explosion animation. The Mattel Aquarius explosion symbol came from the computer’s fixed character set for games. Released in 1983, the home computer lacked programmable graphics, so designers prepared ready-made figures, explosions, and backgrounds. This first frame occupied character slot D3.

To animate the Aquarius explosion graphic, a game could replace this glyph with the next frame in the same screen cell. Printed together, the three characters stay still; only software makes the sequence move.
