What 𘯇 means
It was one of two systems for writing Khitan.
Tradition credits Yelü Diela with creating it around 925. Khitan Large Script was its separate counterpart. Its forms drew on Chinese characters, while its sound system is linked to Uyghur writing, though the scripts look different. Surviving examples include funerary inscriptions for Khitan royalty and aristocracy. After the Liao dynasty, the script remained in use under Jin rule; a 1191 order ended its use by the imperial history office. Later Jurchen scripts were modeled on both Khitan scripts. Historical texts run in vertical columns from top to bottom, right to left; scholarly transcriptions may lay them out horizontally.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘯇 show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 13.0 (2020), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
