What 🭽 means
A top-left fill within one character cell. Early Commodore text screens put one glyph in each fixed cell. Neighboring block shapes could meet across cells to make a larger drawing, with 🭽 filling one corner.
Where did 🭽 come from?
It comes from Commodore’s PETSCII graphics set. It appears in the PET/VIC-20 and C64/C128 character sets. Unicode preserves this old screen glyph as a distinct character so files and software can retain it; converting old PETSCII text requires a character map because PETSCII bytes and Unicode values are different.
