sunuwar digit seven

Sunuwar Digit Seven

𑯷 is the Sunuwar script's digit for seven: its value is 7. It appears in Sunuwar or Kõits writing used in Nepal and Sikkim. The main practical catch is technical: a keyboard needs Sunuwar support to enter it, and a font needs that support to display it.

What 𑯷 means

It is the digit seven in Sunuwar writing. In Sunuwar and Kõits numerals, it has the ordinary numeric value 7.

The modern form of the script is associated with Jentich's work in 1942. A community history describes older Koĩts-BreɁse writing on animal skins, copied and re-engraved in the 1940s.

Sunuwar digits correspond to Hindu-Arabic 0–9, so seven keeps its value in Nepal and Sikkim traditions. Their surrounding writing differs: publications in Nepal favor an alphabetic approach, while Sikkim publications may use an abugida, where consonants carry an inherent vowel. The script's structure was modeled on Latin; that design influence does not make it a Latin descendant.

How do I type Sunuwar seven?

Use a keyboard that supports Sunuwar or enter the Unicode value. As checked on 2026-09-14, a community desktop keyboard was available. A 2021 proposal for adding Sunuwar to Unicode, the standard that assigns codes to text characters, describes older fonts that mapped Sunuwar shapes to Latin letter positions. Text made with one of those fonts may look right but has a different character identity.

As checked on 2026-09-14, Word and Outlook on Windows accept 11BF7 followed by Alt+X; GNOME and GTK accept Ctrl+Shift+U, 11BF7, then Space or Enter. On macOS, Unicode Hex Input stops at four hexadecimal digits; use Character Viewer or a Sunuwar keyboard.

Why does 𑯷 appear as a square?

The selected font may lack Sunuwar coverage. Unicode identifies the character, but a font needs a mapped Sunuwar glyph to draw it. A fallback box does not mean the digit is invalid.

A numeral in Sunuwar or Kõits writing, with a straightforward numeric reading.

In Sunuwar text, keep its script identity distinct from the Latin-script 7.
