vertical go-kart

Vertical Go-Kart

𜲝 is a tiny go-kart picture from an Ohio Scientific computer’s character-graphics set. It was a ready-made screen image; in a message, it works best as a small retro-computing or racing picture. “Vertical” describes the kart’s orientation.

What 𜲝 means

It is a small go-kart graphic from an early computer. By 1978, Ohio Scientific’s Challenger character set included it among built-in car, ship, and arrow graphics. Programs placed these drawings on text screens for scenes and games.

Unicode later preserved it so old computer text could be exchanged and software could imitate those machines or recreate their text-screen graphics. Its 2024 encoding marks standardization, not the picture’s beginning.
