What 𜵸 means

A low-resolution tile for drawing with text.

“Octant” means one of eight cells inside a character cell; this one fills cells 4 and 8. A Kaypro 10 guide from 1983 explains the 24 pixel method; later mapping tables identify this shape as Kaypro's normal-display code C4.

The Unicode proposal in 2021 included these legacy patterns to preserve old character data and support emulators. In fixed-width text, neighboring octants build larger pictures.
