What means
It writes five in Garay’s own decimal digit set.
Garay’s digits are read from left to right within text that runs from right to left. Assane Faye published the script in January 1961 for writing Wolof and designed it to be easy to learn for people familiar with Arabic script, using simpler forms. Wolof is also written in the Latin script, Senegal’s official orthography, and in Wolofal, an Arabic-based way of writing Wolof. Faye’s Garay examples include textbooks, folktales, maps, and a Qur’an with Wolof translation between the lines.
Within Garay it is simply five; outside that script, it signals a particular writing tradition.
If the app has no Garay-capable font, this digit can appear as a box.
