What 𞗶 means

It represents five in Ol Onal’s decimal set.

Mahendra Nath Sardar developed Ol Onal between 1981 and 1992 to write Bhumij, a language of eastern India.

In 1992, the Adim Bhumij Samaj selected the script through a community contest. Bhumij is also written in Bengali, Devanagari, Odia, and Latin scripts.

Why does the Ol Onal digit five have different shapes?

The first digital fonts changed its design.

Ol Onal’s digits originally had other forms; technical limits led to the new shapes in 2013. Both forms still represent five.
