What 🠖 means
It points right; placement tells you what it connects.
As a Unicode right arrow, 🠖 links two labels when it sits between them and points to what follows after an instruction. Like other arrows, its meaning depends on context; sent alone, it marks direction but gives no reliable clue to the sender's mood.
Where did this arrow come from?
Its documented design trail runs through computer fonts.
The broader Wingdings line dates to 1992, when its original fonts shipped with Windows 3.1. The Wingdings 3 right arrow belongs to a later all-arrow font set. Older symbol fonts assigned pictures to font-specific character slots, so a document could change when opened without the same font. The Unicode proposal brought this shape into ordinary text so it could travel across apps without relying on the original symbol font.
As of 2026, browsers and document editors may draw it differently or show a missing-glyph box if their fonts lack support.
Technical and decorative; the arrow signals direction while the surrounding words carry tone.
Alone, it does not reliably signal approval, sarcasm, or urgency.

3Questions people ask
2Why does this arrow look different in another app?
It can. As of 2026, browsers and document editors may use different fonts for it, changing its head or shaft or showing a box when no supporting glyph is available.
Does it flip in right-to-left text?
No. This arrow keeps its rightward shape in bidirectional text; if you mean left, use a left-pointing arrow.

A visible symbol can contain several code points. JS .length counts UTF-16 units; UTF-8 counts bytes.
