Smiling Face with Halo

Innocence, usually the performed kind. The halo claims 'I'm an angel' at exactly the moment the sender isn't: after a pushy favour, a confession, or a line they knew better than to type. It doesn't apologise for that sentence; it announces that the sender knows, and thinks it's funny. It usually lands at the end, right after the line it excuses. The straight reading runs alongside the wink (blessed, grateful, behaving), and it's the one you'll meet under faith posts and 'blessed' captions.

Someone sent me 😇 — sincere or sarcastic?

Read the sentence directly before it. If the halo caps a request, a tease or an admission, it's mock innocence: the sender is fishing for pushback, so tease back. Scolding a performed 'I'm an angel' reads as missing the joke. If it stands alone under good news, thanks or a compliment, take it straight: pleased with themselves and only slightly smug.

One reading is no joke: grief. Under RIP and tribute posts, 😇 marks the person who died as an angel now, watching over. There the sincere reading is the safe default; leave the irony out of it.
