What 𖪩 means

It represents /pʰ/.

In Muishvung, this is an aspirated p. Tangsa writes consonants before separate vowel letters; each vowel also marks the syllable's tone, or pitch pattern.

Why was the Tangsa alphabet developed?

To write Tangsa varieties and support literacy.

Lakhum Mossang began developing the alphabet in 1990 for Muishvung, his own variety. He taught it by hand and used songs and a prayer to show how writing could preserve culture.

Tangsa varieties span northeast India and northwest Myanmar; some speakers do not fully understand one another. A Tangsa committee revised the script in 2019 to cover more varieties. By 2021, it was documented as unrelated to existing writing systems.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
