Tangut Component 565

Use your editor’s Unicode character input to enter 𘨴. It is a Tangut component that researchers use to index and describe complete Tangut glyphs, rather than a whole written word. Unicode research documents two drawings associated with it, so font or chart renderings can differ.

What 𘨴 means

Use a Unicode-aware editor’s character entry.

If your editor supports Unicode hex input, enter 18A34 and invoke its conversion command; exact keystrokes depend on your operating system or app. The font must support Tangut characters for the glyph to display.

What does 𘨴 mean?

It is a component used to analyse complete Tangut characters.

Researchers use Component 565 to index Tangut glyphs in dictionaries, describe how their parts fit together, and write Ideographic Description Sequences (IDS), a standardized way to describe character structure. The component is an analytical label, not a complete Tangut word to read on its own.

The Tangut writing system, also called the Xixia script, was created by imperial decree under the Western Xia state for the Tangut language. It appears in official, private, and religious texts. Historically, components belonged inside complete characters; Unicode encodes them separately so scholars can describe and compare their structure.

Why does 𘨴 look different?

Unicode records two documented drawings for Component 565.

Fonts and reference charts may show either drawing. Component 350, 𘥝, is separate from 𘨴, not another drawing of it; Unicode glyph-correction research distinguishes the two. Compare the component within a complete Tangut character when a chart is unclear.

A scholarly analysis character used in Tangut dictionaries, structure descriptions, and font review.

It labels part of a character; it is not a complete Tangut word.
