What 𘫂 means
It is a structural component, not a complete Tangut word.
Unicode uses Tangut components to index and analyze larger characters. Component systems differ, so 𘫂 has no guaranteed standalone translation.
If a font lacks this Tangut component glyph, an empty box is a display failure, not another meaning.
Why was the Tangut script made?
It supported a state’s language, religion, and identity.
Around 1036, Li Yuanhao introduced it as Western Xia consolidated power; early work included Buddhist translation. Later Tangut texts covered Chinese classics, law, military affairs, and trade.
Tangut writing continued into the Yuan and Ming after Western Xia fell; a Buddhist inscription carved on a stone monument in 1502 is the last datable example. The script followed the precedent of Khitan state scripts and used principles of Chinese writing, but it was not directly derived from either.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘫂 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut Components block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
