𜰴

upper middle left twelfth circle

Upper Middle Left Twelfth Circle

𜰴 is a curved cell for assembling a circle from text characters. It comes from a Sharp MZ computer’s European primary character set; in a 4×4 text-art layout, it starts the second row. Keeping its original table entry lets old character data survive conversion into Unicode and back.

What 𜰴 means

One curved tile for a circle built from text.

Sharp MZ computers stored ready-drawn shapes as display characters. In the MZ-700’s European primary table (its built-in screen-character set), this arc is slot B0. Unicode kept the mapping so old text can be converted into Unicode and back without replacing this glyph.

Where does 𜰴 go in the circle design?

It starts the second row, at the far left.

The 4×4 layout joins twelve curved cells into an outer ring and uses four quarter-circle cells for the inner circle. Here, 𜰴 is the first cell of row two. This is text art assembled from single character cells.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𜰴 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
