What ⬮ means
Treat it as a visual marker, not an established reply. As of 2026, it has no standard chat reading; context has to supply any local interpretation.
Its ARIB 9206 connection is historical: it is the entry from a Japanese television-symbol standard unified with ⬮. In 2008, a Unicode reviewer said the source drawing looked more like a square with semicircles above and below than an ellipse.
Why does ⬮ look different in some fonts?
Fonts supply its outline, so the shape can vary. As a text character, ⬮ is drawn by the active font; a fallback font may make it narrower or show a missing-glyph box if it has no drawing for it.
