Forward-Facing Runner, Lower Half, Frame 2

𜷲 is the lower tile of a front-facing runner in its second pose. It came from the Mattel Aquarius's built-in tiles and can appear alone as text.

What 𜷲 means

A ready-made leg pose for a game figure. The Aquarius had no sprites—moving images drawn by software—so games built figures from fixed tiles. Its upper half 𜷰 sits above one of four lower poses; switching frames suggests a run.

After programmer input, Mattel graphic designers Joe Ferreira, Monique Lujan-Bakerink, and Peggi Decarli assembled the Aquarius set. A 1983 review says Aquarius LOGO, a beginner's drawing program, taught animation by changing a turtle—a screen cursor that follows commands—into the runner's two halves.
