𜸦

large type piece upper right crotch

Upper-Right Junction Piece

𜸦 is a tile for drawing oversized letters on HP terminals. It is one piece in a multi-cell type design, so by itself it does not spell a letter.

What 𜸦 means

It marks an upper-right branch inside a large letter.

The first HP 2640A appeared in 1974; that terminal line also offered a built-in set of pieces for drawing headlines. Each large character used a 3×3 grid of smaller character cells.

This piece joins the other cells in that grid. As Unicode text, it can sit in a plain-text file, but display depends on a font that includes it; alone, it does not enlarge ordinary letters.
