Block Sextant-356

🬱 is a six-cell mosaic tile for rough graphics, not an emoji. Teletext in the UK used tiles like it for TV graphics from the early 1970s; France’s Minitel used the same idea from the early 1980s until 2012. Sent alone, read it as a graphic pattern unless the conversation suggests a private meaning.

What 🬱 means

Three of its six cells are filled. Numbering runs left to right, row by row; 3, 5, and 6 mark the middle-left and both bottom cells.

Teletext is a TV text service; its mosaic characters could be placed side by side to build simple graphics. France’s Minitel, an interactive text service, also used 2×3 mosaics.

In the 2003 Teletext standard, cells could touch or have thin gaps. That changed how adjacent tiles joined, not which parts this character fills.

Why does 🬱 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
