What 𜲠 means

It was a stored shape for game-like screen graphics. The MZ-700 selected drawings held in character memory; its European alternate set supplied more pictorial shapes for building scenes.

The old Sharp MZ table gives this image display code A5 in the European alternate set. MZ-700 BASIC, the computer’s programming language, could not enter those characters from the keyboard; a program could show one with POKE, a command that writes directly to screen memory.

Why does 𜲠 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
