What means
One cell in a six-part picture grid. Teletext sent pages of information through TV broadcasts. Its graphics used cells divided into two columns and three rows; “sextant” names this six-part grid, and 6 marks the lower-right part. “Separated” means a background-colored border surrounds the lit block.
In a 1973 BBC Ceefax prototype, block characters outlined a weather map; Ceefax was the BBC’s early teletext service. A shared Teletext standard followed in 1976, describing the wider mosaic system. Its small cells let designers draw maps, charts, and simple pictures on TV screens; preserves one separated tile from that graphics set.
