What ☥ means
It means life. The Egyptian cross, or ankh, was the hieroglyph for “life,” “live,” and “alive”; Egyptian art shows gods offering it to rulers. Recognizable forms appear in Egypt’s First Dynasty. What its loop and stem depict is disputed; proposals include a sandal strap or an elaborate bow.
A Napatan amulet dated 700–500 BCE pairs it with the djed (endurance), was (dominion), and heh (vast time). At Bagawat in Egypt, chapel façades in a Christian cemetery used from the second through seventh centuries CE include the looped form as a cross.
