What ፈ means
It is a syllable unit, not a word with one fixed translation.
Ethiopic script, called fidel in Ethiopia and Eritrea, pairs each consonant with vowel shapes; ፈ is the f row's first vowel order, fä/fə, while phonetic keyboard tables may label it fe. Its lineage begins with South Arabian writing, introduced around the eighth century BCE; clearly defined Ethiopic inscriptions appear in the second or third century CE. Vowel marking developed in the fourth century CE, turning consonant signs into syllables for Christian Scripture translation. The system later served Ge'ez manuscripts and, with adjustments, Amharic, Tigrinya, and Tigre.
Using it signals script identity, not internet tone.

Questions people ask
1Why does ፈ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
